Delsea High School to Hold Crisis Drill
Delsea Regional High School will hold a simulated crisis response drill in order to meet the state mandates for security drills; this event will take place during the morning of November, 3rd. The drill will provide the administration with valuable information on the school’s crisis response plan and will fulfill the 2010 state mandate which requires each New Jersey school to hold one monthly security drill and a monthly fire drill. Delsea will work with local emergency responders to update safety and security plans and to revise procedures for drills and the management of/response to school emergencies.
November’s drill will be a full-scale exercise and will involve the simulation of an active shooter acted by a Franklin Twp Police Officer. This scenario will require the school to go into lockdown mode and an evacuation to the football stadium. The purpose of this drill is to gauge how quickly the students, staff, and hallways can be cleared in time of crisis.
Coordinated by Cpl. Vince DiPietro Township of Franklin Police and Delsea High School vice-principal George Passante, the crisis drill will be a multi-agency operation. For additional information on the drill contact George Passante at 856-694-0100 x225 or Lieutenant Vince DiPietro 856-694-1415 x21.
Thank You!
